Comedy at the Guild: March

Our monthly comedy nights are now established as a great way to see the hottest new stars without paying the big price tags!

Featuring three different comedians and an MC each month, you’re in for plenty of laughs and a great night out!

March line up…

MC: Nina Gilligan
Nina Gilligan exploded on to the comedy scene in 2011. 2012 saw her as a finalist in Real radio XS Comedian of the year competition, judged by BBC Comedy North and Industry professionals at The Frog & Bucket Manchester. She also reached the semi-finals of the largest UK New Act Competition: Laughing Horse.  Sometimes outrageous, always hilarious, observational and storytelling comedy for all.  A persona you will fall in love with.

 “Destined for Stardom” Buzz Comedy

Act 1: Barry Dodds
Self-confessed comedy geek, Barry took to the comedy stage at the tender age of 21 and soon had audiences eating out of the palm of his hand. Using his own combination of irrepressibly cheeky, and surprisingly dark material, he quickly found himself taking the national comedy circuit by storm. A talented storyteller, who uses whimsical imagery and evocative observations, Barry is an assured closing act, with regular bookings at many of the UK’s top comedy clubs.

“Razor sharp humour” Metro

Act 2: Peter Brush
A highly distinctive performer and deft writer of finely crafted jokes, Peter Brush unassumingly takes the stage with his slight bespectacled frame and scruffy hair, before consummately conquering it with an arsenal of razor sharp quirky one-liners and peerlessly original routines, all delivered in an amusingly awkward fashion. In 2015 he performed his debut solo hour Older than the Oldest Dog that Ever Lived at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, receiving 4*+ reviews. Peter can be seen at all the major clubs in the UK.

“Unique observations and connections that stand-ups crave.” The Guardian

Act 3: Steve Royle
For over 12 years Steve could be found in the guise of “Mad Edgar” the court jester at Camelot theme park where he presented over 2000 ‘Crazy Juggling Shows’. He has also supported both Peter Kay and Dave Spikey on tour and was voted ‘Entertainer of the Year’ at the recent Red Rose Awards. His many TV appearances have included Phoenix Nights and Max & Paddy. He has also supported Peter Kay on tour! One of the circuit’s favourite headline acts, Steve is sure to leave you begging for more!

“A very funny man” Peter Kay
