Comedy at the Guild February

Our monthly comedy nights are now established as a great way to see the hottest new stars without paying the big price tags!

Featuring three different comedians and an MC each month, you’re in for plenty of laughs and a great night out!

February’s line-up…

MC: Phil Walker
Straight from starring in our very own Preston Panto he is back to his “day job!” Phil is one of the UK’s finest comic talents. Since being voted City Life comedian of the year at the comedy store in 2002, Phil has gone on to headline at all the big comedy clubs both here in the UK and internationally. He’s even been on telly a few times you know! His act has taken him from Skegness to Afghanistan where he entertained over 4000 troops on two tours (basically he will go anywhere for a laugh!)

“Walker is crackingly good!” Chortle

Act 1: Neil McFarlane
Neil started his comedy career in Scotland 16 years ago, where he remains a regular act at the highly-regarded Stand Comedy Clubs in Glasgow and Edinburgh. He now performs in locations across the length and breadth of the British Isles. Neil reached the Scottish regional final of the BBC New Comedy Awards in 2001, so technically that means he’s been on the telly (for the 7 people who had BBC CHOICE at the time). In 2012 Neil was a finalist in Jongleurs Comic Idol competition.  He also wrote and performed his solo show “Sightseeing with a Hangover” at the Edinburgh Festival in August 2016.

“Fantastic punchlines.” Manchester City Life

Act 2: Chris Washington
Chris has just packed in his day job as a postman and gone full time on the comedy circuit. Since he began performing stand-up just a few short years ago Chris is certainly getting noticed as one to watch, notably at last year’s Edinburgh festival where his debut solo show was nominated for ‘Best Newcomer’. An affable stage presence and instant likeability, together with great material, Chris is going places so see him now before he is filling theatres!

“Mark my words, he will be a big name.”  Love Comedy

Act 3: Vince Atta
Nothing less than a phenomenon, Vince Atta has the industry ignited! Using a multi-track looper and pedals, Vince creates live on-the-spot Hip-Hop/Reggae/Techno/anything, hilariously fusing it with natural stand-up, storytelling and characters, creating the most infectious songs you’re ever likely to hear… it really is quite a show! Admired by audiences and peers alike; this unique, talented and incredibly funny act has to be seen to be believed!

“An unstoppable force! Like an intravenous shot of adrenaline!” Chortle
