Comedy at the Guild: December

Offer: GROUP DISCOUNTS AVAILABLE

Line-up announced!
Doors open at 7pm.

Our monthly comedy nights are now established as a great way to see the hottest new stars without paying the big price tags! Featuring three different comedians and an MC each month, you’re in for plenty of laughs and a great night out!

MC: Martin Mor
Martin comes from Northern Ireland, and after a successful career as a circus performer, he turned his attention on the unsuspecting comedy circuit. With almost 30 years of experience as a professional performer, Martin has established himself as one of the UK’s most popular and in-demand comedians. Very much the comedian’s comedian, Martin has been the support act of choice for; Frankie Boyle, Jack Dee, Lee Evans, Jasper Carrot, Patrick Kielty, Johnny Vegas, Steve Coogan, and Tina Turner. Martin is a specialist MC, a regular headline act at most of the UK’s major comedy clubs, and also performs at comedy and arts festivals. A truly global performer, Martin has worked throughout the known world performing his shows in Britain, Ireland, Australia, Philippines, USA, Croatia and many more!

“A very funny lad with the best beard in the business!” – Johnny Vegas.

Act 1: Big Lou Lewis
Lewis ‘Big Lou’ Jones has become a favourite on both the comedy circuit and after dinner circuit since he burst on to the scene back in 2010.  Another product of the legendary comedy writer Ashley Boroda’s comedy course, the Manchester born comic announced himself on to the comedy scene by winning the Lass O’gowrie New Comedian Of The Year competition. Lou is now a regular fixture at most of the major comedy nights throughout the land.

“We booked Lou because we thought he would smash it and he did!” – Manfords

Act 2: Stephen Cookson
Coming to comedy later in life than many comics has not proved a problem for Stephen who is quickly establishing himself as a force to be reckoned with in venues throughout the land! With his deadpan delivery and devastatingly brilliant one-liner gags he is sure to have you rolling about in the aisles!

Deadpan one-liners that were perfectly executed and written. Had one lady hyperventilating and begging for him to stop. The quality of this man’s gags are up there with Milton Jones and Gary Delaney” – Bryan Malcolm (The Haha Club).

Act 3: Steve Gribbin
Steve Gribbin is a diminutive guitar-wielding satirist from Liverpool whose scabrous comedy songs and off the wall observations have made him one of the firm favourites of the comedy circuit. Steve’s original comedy songs combine razor sharp lyrics with tunes that put their foot in the door of your mind and refuse to leave. Firmly based in rock ‘n’ roll and refusing to pull no punches, these are not the ‘oh so witty’ ditties of penguin-suited plink plonk piano playing posh gobs. They are that rarity – comedy songs which are actually funny. Steve has been storming across the UK and Ireland. Steve is a permanent fixture at the cutting edge weekly comedy topical show at London`s comedy store.

“Intense, topical rants” – The GUARDIAN.
